Janet Gable- Executive Director

Janet Gable

Executive Director

Janet brings 18 years of healthcare experience, including 10 years in senior living. She is passionate about building meaningful relationships with residents and families while creating a warm, supportive environment centered on compassionate care.

Originally from the Birmingham area, Janet earned her associate degree in nursing from Central Alabama Community College and holds Alabama and Florida assisted living and memory care administrator licenses. She looks forward to serving residents and families at The Brook with an open-door policy and a commitment to exceptional care.

Anissa Lewis

Resident Services Director

Anissa has been a part of The Brook team since 2024. She began her professional career at Regions Bank, where she worked for 6 years, developing a strong foundation in sales, customer service, and relationship management. Anissa’s experience and care for others led her to senior care, where she finds her work both meaningful and rewarding.  

Anissa graduated from Pinson Valley High School and continued her education at Wallace State Community College, earning her associate degree in liberal arts.  

She takes pride in building strong relationships with residents and families and is passionate about creating a welcoming, supportive environment. Outside of work, Anissa loves to spend time outdoors, gardening, cooking, and baking.

Admissions Director

After beginning her career in the hospitality industry, she worked as a Catering Sales Manager at the Memphis Marriott Downtown and later as a Wedding Planner at the Annapolis Marriott Waterfront. In 2020, after spending several years raising her four sons, she transitioned into senior living, where she discovered a passion for serving seniors and their families. 

She studied at La Universidad de Costa Rica in San Pedro, Costa Rica, and earned her bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Maryland at College Park. 

Outside of work, she has been married for 25 years and is the proud mother of four sons. She and her family also spent five years living in Nassau, Bahamas, while her husband served in federal law enforcement at the United States Embassy. They currently enjoy life with their Golden Retriever and German Shepherd.
